Two newly minted doctors from Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine (KPSOM) are among the inspiring graduates featured in the recent AAMC News article, “Rising Above: These Graduating Medical Students Overcame Immense Challenges on the Way to an MD.” The piece spotlights students from across the country who have triumphed over adversity—ranging from personal loss and financial hardship to immigration struggles and health crises—on their journeys to becoming physicians.
