Department of Biomedical Science

The Department of Biomedical Science is responsible for articulating the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine's vision for building sound educational programs in biomedical science and integrating them into a broader medical school curriculum built on three pillars: Biomedical, Clinical, and Health Systems Sciences.

Biomedical Science gives students a fundamental understanding of the biological knowledge that underlies the development of clinical reasoning and decision-making. Our faculty members are experienced educators with a wide range of scientific expertise.
