Poverty is believed to be a substantial contributor to child maltreatment, with individual benefit programs being linked to reductions in child abuse and neglect. A new study co-authored by Paul J. Chung, KPSOM Chair of Health Systems Science, showed that even a modest increase in annual state spending substantially reduced child mistreatment.
