Forbes profiles three students and their paths to medical school

Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine is one of the most competitive medical schools in the United States, with just 50 out of about 11,500 applicants accepted during the 2021-22 admissions cycle, an acceptance rate of just 0.4 percent. The journey to successfully entering medical school and then completing the four-year program leading to the MD degree requires careful planning and hard work that often begins years earlier during undergraduate studies, but can also follow an unconventional path. 

Forbes magazine profiles three KPSOM students – Alex Argame, Matthew Fisher, and Christina Tran – who share stories of how they prepared for medical school, how they chose an undergrad major with medical school in mind, what to look for in a medical school, and how to choose where to apply.
