KPSOM is pleased to announce the permanent appointment of Moe Aboufares, MBA, CPA, as Senior Associate Dean and Chief Financial and Operations Officer (SAD CFOO), effective August 11, 2025. Moe has served in the interim role since May 2023 and now steps into the position following a comprehensive external search.
As a member of the senior leadership team, Moe has played a key role in shaping the school’s strategic direction, including the development of the 2026–2030 strategic plan and business plan. His leadership has strengthened financial operations, modernized budgeting and purchasing processes, and enhanced alignment with Kaiser Permanente’s institutional priorities.
Before joining KPSOM, Moe held founding leadership roles at the California University of Science and Medicine, where he built the administrative infrastructure and led the institution to financial stability. His earlier career includes leadership positions at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and Accenture, with a focus on optimizing healthcare financial systems across the U.S., United Kingdom, and Persian Gulf.
Moe’s appointment marks a significant milestone for KPSOM, recognizing his steady leadership and ongoing contributions to the school’s operational and financial success.
