KPSOM leadership, faculty, staff, students, and colleagues will give a variety of presentations at the 2022 Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Western Group on Educational Affairs (WGEA) Conference scheduled April 1 through 3 in Portland, Oregon. In keeping with the event’s focus on medical education, members of the KPSOM team will give presentations on coaching, competency-based curriculum and equity, inclusion, and diversity-related matters as well as instruction and simulation/assessment. Conference participants submitted oral presentations, workshops, panel/small group discussions, and posters for consideration by WGEA peer review. Ultimately, 10 KPSOM submissions were accepted.
“It is an extremely impressive showing to have so many presentations at the largest regional medical education conference so early in a school’s tenure,” said Abbas Hyderi, MD, MPH, Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education. “The conference theme, ‘Bridging the Educational Continuum in Bridge City,’ strengthens and emphasizes the value of connecting communities across premedical, undergraduate medical, graduate medical, and continuing medical education. Many from the KPSOM community have come together to disseminate our medical education innovations and projects and we couldn’t be more excited to participate in this year’s activities.”
