Biography
Chief of Staff
Melissa Platt provides advice, leadership, and facilitation with respect to strategic issues, special projects, and other activities in the Dean’s Office. She manages key business and operational processes, as well as high profile events on behalf of the Dean.
Prior to joining the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, Ms. Platt worked at RUSH University Medical Center in Chicago, where she started as RUSH’s Director of Special Events and became the Senior Director of Campaign Management and Chief of Staff to the Philanthropy SVP. She subsequently served as Chief of Staff to the President and CEO of RUSH University System for Health and RUSH University Medical Center. Before she moved into healthcare, Ms. Platt was a high school teacher and worked at arts organizations, including Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and The Music Center: Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County.
Ms. Platt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, both a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship from Southern Methodist University, and a Master of Arts in Education from National University.
