Clinical Science

Dr. Nkem Chukwumerije provides mentorship and support to medical students and faculty from the equity, inclusion, and diversity (EID), healthcare management, and leadership perspectives at KPSOM. Dr. Chukwumerije serves as President and Executive Medical Director for The Southeast Permanente Medical Group, one of Georgia’s largest multi-specialty medical groups, with over 900 clinicians serving more than 300,000 Kaiser Permanente members. Dr. Chukwumerije also serves as national physician leader for the Permanente Medical Groups, ensuring alignment of EID initiatives with Permanente Medicine strategy and collaborating with Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals in this critical work. He is a current board member and past President and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas. He also served as President of the University of Nigeria College of Medicine Alumni Association, North America. He is deeply committed to addressing the medical needs of his native country through his continued service to Faith Alive USA and the Isuochi Progressive Union, organizations devoted to providing medical care and support to underserved areas of Nigeria.
