Director of Faculty Educator Development; Assistant Professor

Clinical Science

Dr. Delores Amorelli oversees programs to support Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine faculty in their continual professional growth as educators, including efforts to advance skills in teaching, assessment, curriculum development, diversity, equity, inclusion, leadership, mentoring, and helping to foster vibrant communities of practice among didactic and clinical faculty. Dr. Amorelli has 15 years of experience in higher education as an administrator and a faculty member. Prior to her role at KPSOM, Dr. Amorelli worked at Columbia University, where she helped launch new academic programs and new courses from vision to implementation and created a faculty development program centered on inclusive teaching and equitable assessment. Her research interests include the professional identity formation of educators, mitigating bias in narrative assessment, and inclusive teaching practices.
