Dr. Bobeck (Bob) Modjtahedi is a vitreoretinal surgeon and serves as Director of the Kaiser Permanente Southern California Eye Monitoring Center, which oversees large-scale virtual eye care programs across Southern California, Georgia, Colorado, and Hawaii. At KPSOM, Dr. Modjtahedi serves as a mentor for students for the Department of Clinical Science. A Clinician Investigator with the Department of Research and Evaluation at Southern California Permanente Medical Group, Dr. Modjtahedi leads research focused on health disparities, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and population-level outcomes using ophthalmic imaging data. He holds multiple leadership roles with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, including lead authorship on the organization’s Myopia Task Force and co-chair of the Autoimmune Retinopathy Task Force.
