Clinical Professor
Dr. Antonio Hernandez Conte is a Partner Physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG). As a Clinical Professor at KPSOM, Dr. Hernandez Conte’s primary roles are to serve as an advisor for students interested in a career in the perioperative sector, to act as a research mentor, and to serve as a sponsor for students interested in governmental advocacy at the state and federal levels. At SCPMG, he also serves as an SCPMG Business Ambassador and the Regional Anesthesiology Compensation Lead. Dr. Hernandez Conte is the Regional Co-Chair Emeritus of the SCPMG Regional LGBTQ+ Committee. He serves as the Director of the Perioperative Translational Research Initiatives at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. Dr. Hernandez Conte is a Past-President of the California Society of Anesthesiologists and the ASA physician liaison to the U.S. Congressional Equality LGBTQ+ Caucus. His research interests include healthcare disparities in LGBTQ+ communities, impact of infectious diseases in the perioperative setting, and evolving care of HIV+ persons undergoing surgery.
