Biography

Director of Health Systems Science Research Operations

As Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine’s Director of Health Systems Science Research Operations, Lindsey R. Thompson leads research administration, supervises and mentors research staff, and provides broad administrative oversight over research projects within the department. She has more than 15 years of program management, project management, and project development experience, including working with academic and research programs nationally as well as with community-based organizations and at-risk populations throughout Los Angeles County.

Prior to joining the school, Lindsey served as the Lead Research Manager for the Health Services Research Program for the UCLA Children’s Discovery and Innovation Institute at the UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. She previously worked as a Public Administration Analyst and Project Coordinator for the UCLA/RAND Prevention Research Center at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and formerly held positions at the Pasadena Public Health Department and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. 

Lindsey earned a BA in Biology from Pomona College and a MS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale University. She went on to receive her MPH in Community Health Sciences from UCLA. She is also an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant.
