Clinical Science

Dr. William Towner has been a staff physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group since 1997. His clinical work focuses on caring for patients affected by HIV. Dr. Towner has served as Principal Investigator for more than 150 research studies in infectious disease and vaccines. He also serves as teaching faculty for the Internal Medicine Residency at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center. As a Professor of Clinical Science, Dr. Towner leads weekly small group sessions for the Phase 2 Doctoring course, where he enjoys helping students develop skills to become compassionate and humanistic physicians.
