Nancy H. Spiegel is the Director of Clinical Science Operations and Integration for the Clinical Science Department in the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J Tyson School of Medicine. She is responsible for overseeing the administrative aspects of the department and reports directly to the Chair. Ms. Spiegel has a wide variety of interests including wellness, resilience, leadership, professionalism, and education. She oversees the staff that works on the school’s clinical experience which provides students with exposure to patient encounters and healthcare teams over the full four years of the curriculum as well as support staff for classroom activities. Ms. Spiegel has an important role in coordinating the activities of the KPSOM with those of SCPMG where she also has many roles. In addition, Ms. Spiegel serves as the Executive Leader for Medical Education, Wellness and Leadership Development for the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, where she oversees leadership development, graduate medical education programs, and continuing medical education (CME) as well as outcome-driven wellness programs and activities. She also provides change management and leadership development expertise to the executive leadership team of Kaiser Permanente Southern California. Ms. Spiegel has served in several Kaiser Permanente leadership roles managing Organizational Research, Education and Training, and the Employee Assistance Program. Prior to Kaiser Permanente, she oversaw the national survey research program for the Xerox Corporation and served as an instructor in organizational psychology at the University of Rochester.
