Dr. Michelle Rios is an Internal Medicine physician with the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center, with a clinical focus on Latine health. She encourages direct and open communication with patients so they can truly understand their health. As a student, Dr. Rios was drawn to Internal Medicine for its diversity and the ability to treat and understand the patient as a whole. Dr. Rios is a KPSOM small group facilitator for Phase 2 of the Scientific Basis of Health Care. In this role, she has created curriculum materials integrating the clinical and biomedical sciences in the areas of gastroenterology, endocrinology, and nutrition.
