Associate Professor
Dr. Joyce Javier is a pediatrician, scientist and educator who is a leader in research on Filipino child health using community-based participatory research methods, concentrating on topics such as youth suicide, depression prevention and the implementation and evaluation of evidence-based parenting interventions.
In her role at KPSOM, Dr. Javier conducts research in Health Systems Science (HSS), mentors students, and teaches community and population health and other subjects in Integrated Sciences. She is a leader in research on Filipino health disparities using community-based participatory research methods, concentrating on topics such as youth suicide and depression prevention and implementation and evaluation of evidence-based parenting interventions. Her work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Clinical Scholars Program.
