Gabriel E. López, MD

Biography

Assistant Professor

Clinical Science

Dr. Gabriel López is a Family Medicine physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group. Throughout his medical career, he has been involved in mentoring, advising, and teaching medical students and family medicine residents. Prior to joining KPSOM as a Phase 1 Small Group Facilitator in 2019, he served as faculty with the Kaiser Permanente Fontana Family Medicine Residency Program for over a decade. Dr. López founded an innovative, multi-disciplinary clinic addressing health disparities in Spanish-speaking patients with diabetes, as well as serving as Physician Champion for equity, inclusion, and diversity. He has received awards for teacher recognition and excellence in leadership and has published peer-reviewed articles in The Permanente Journal.
