Dr. Edward Chen is a Southern California Permanente Medical Group pediatrician. He views pediatrics as preventive healthcare, investing in children's health today to make sure they have a healthy and happy tomorrow. As a clinical instructor at KPSOM, Dr. Chen serves as an applicant file reviewer for prospective students. Dr. Chen is a proponent of vaccines to prevent life-threatening diseases. He promotes healthful living habits and preventive care as the best ways to maintain health, advising his young patients in basic daily skills such as eating vegetables daily, hand washing to prevent the spread of infections, and brushing their teeth at least twice a day to help avoid cavities. He also encourages balance boards as a great to stay active and avoid sitting all the time.
