Dr. Derek D. Mafong is a Southern California Permanente Medical Group physician based at the San Diego Medical Center. In addition to his clinical duties, he serves as a voluntary Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Much of his research has focused on diabetes, a topic on which he has published widely.
