Professor

Health Systems Science

Dr. Deborah Young is director of Behavioral Research in the Department of Research and Evaluation, Kaiser Permanente Southern California. Her research focuses on physical activity and obesity prevention interventions to reduce cardiovascular disease risk. She has received multiple grant awards from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), has served on a number of NIH grant review study sections, and regularly publishes in scholarly journals. She has served as a predoctoral, postdoctoral, and faculty mentor in addition to her graduate-level teaching duties.
