Assistant Dean for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity

As Assistant Dean for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity, Kimberly Freeman assists with development, implementation, and oversight of EID strategy throughout the school with a focus on pathways and intergroup dialogue program development. Ms. Freeman previously served as Associate Dean and Chief Diversity Officer for the USC Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences; prior to that, she was the UCLA Anderson School of Management Assistant Dean for Diversity Initiatives and Community Relations. She began her career with the Southern California Gas Company, holding a variety of positions in engineering, environment and safety, sales and marketing, regulatory relations, and community relations. In addition to her professional work, Ms. Freeman has been a gubernatorial and mayoral appointee on numerous boards and commissions and currently serves on the boards of the County of Los Angeles Real Estate Management Commission (REMC), Community Partners, and the African American Board Leadership Institute. She is an American Marshall Memorial Fellow and remains active as member of a broad transatlantic network of leaders. She is also a member of the Pacific Council on International Relations. Ms. Freeman earned her first of four degrees in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from UC Berkeley and holds a Master of Public Policy from USC. She also earned an MBA and a doctorate in educational leadership from UCLA.
