Serving Our Communities

Our Community Commitment

At the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine, we value the contributions our faculty members make beyond the classroom, including in their professional lives, the healthcare system, and the community. Serving the communities where we work is an essential way for the School to fulfill its commitment to equity, inclusion, and diversity by ensuring that everyone has access to exceptional care and the opportunity to lead a healthy life.

Service-Learning

Our faculty's community leadership is also a way to model the values the School will inspire in its students, training physicians who are focused on individual patients while also actively engaged with the systemic health issues that affect entire communities. Through our service-learning curriculum, we will provide action and reflection on the socioeconomic and environmental factors that affect health, and produce future leaders who will address these fundamental challenges to patient and community well-being.
