KPSOM celebrates Women in Medicine

School community gathers for watch party

June 14, 2021

Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine proudly hosted a watch party of the Permanente Medicine Women in Medicine Virtual Conference, which took place the weekend of June 11-13. The conference was created to help women in the medical profession and their supporters come together to recoup emotionally and spiritually and to build leadership capabilities, practice allyship skills, and learn coping strategies. The conference was sponsored by the Permanente Medical Groups’ three female Executive Medical Directors, including Imelda Dacones, who is also a member of the KPSOM Board of Directors. The watch parties were organized by the Southern California Permanente Medical Group.

A special thank you to the members of the SCPMG Women in Medicine 2021 Planning Committee, who made these gatherings possible, some of whom are also among our faculty:

  • Dr. Chang Na
  • Dr. Ramona Snipes
  • Dr. Harini Reddy, Instructor of Clinical Science and Ob-Gyn LIC Preceptor
  • Dr. Lisa Sanders, Instructor of Clinical Science and Emergency Medicine LIC Preceptor
