Adjunct Associate Professor

Biomedical Science

Dr. Mostafa Belghasem is a nationally recognized physician-scientist and passionate biomedical educator. Dr. Belghasem joined Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine in 2019 as a founding faculty member in the Department of Biomedical Science. He co-developed the curriculum for the Renal Unit and co-directed this unit in the Integrated Science curriculum from 2020 to 2023. In 2023, he accepted a position as Senior Faculty at Baylor College of Medicine’s Temple campus. Dr. Belghasem continues to serve KPSOM as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Science, making contributions in broad areas of physiology, pharmacology, and pathology and supporting the department’s educational and scholarly mission by collaborating with faculty on developing and revising curricula, as well as supporting faculty and students.
