Katerina Venderova, PharmD, PhD

Before joining the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, Dr. Katerina Venderova served as an Associate Professor of Biopharmaceutical Sciences at the Keck Graduate Institute. Her research has focused on delineating genetic pathways involved in neurodegeneration and on identifying new pharmacological targets for a better treatment of neurodegenerative disorders. She has served as principal investigator on multiple grants, including from the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke of the National Institutes of Health. As a biomedical educator with expertise in flipped class and case-based learning, Dr. Venderova contributes to developing and implementing the school’s integrated curriculum, where students apply knowledge of biomedical science in clinical decisions. She has a track record in leader development coaching and mentoring.
