Professor

Biomedical Science

Prior to joining the Kaiser Permanente Bernard J. Tyson School of Medicine, Dr. Kaihong Su was a Professor at California University of Science and Medicine and a tenured Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Throughout her career as a researcher and educator, Dr. Su has obtained expertise in immunology, microbiology, human genetics, and molecular biology. Dr. Su’s research has focused on the immunological mechanisms of autoimmune disorders and viral diseases. Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and has been published in prestigious journals, including Cell, the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, and the Journal of Immunology. Education has been a long-standing passion for Dr. Su. She has extensive experience with curriculum development and has served as a primary mentor for over 20 post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, and medical students.
