Dr. Carla Lupi has devoted her career to the health and well-being of her patients and the education of medical students. She has practiced as an obstetrician-gynecologist and medical educator in private practice, public health settings, and academic health centers. Dr. Lupi aims to create a system of professional education that puts assessment at its core, nurtures learners, and strives for cost-effectiveness. Her scholarship covers instruction and assessment in a range of competencies, including diagnostic reasoning, communication skills, ethical reasoning, and evidence-based medicine. As a participant in the American Association of Medical Colleges Core Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA) Pilot, she contributed to its foundational work in developing frameworks for the faculty development required for EPA implementation.
