Walter D. Conwell, MD, MBA

Associate Dean for Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity; Assistant Professor

Dr. Walter D. Conwell came to Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine from the Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG), where he served as the Physician Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. He has contributed as a member of the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Committee during the School’s startup phase. Over the course of his career, Dr. Conwell has received numerous clinical service and teaching awards. In addition, he has spearheaded several projects aimed at enhancing the STEM educational pipeline for underrepresented populations, including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Summer Medical Education Program (SMEP).
