Biography

Senior Vice President and Senior Associate Dean for Administration & Finance

Sean Hennessey-Hsieh, MBA, came to KPSOM after serving as Chief Operating Officer and Associate Dean for Stanford University School of Medicine, where he led the creation of the first Integrated Strategic Plan for Stanford Medicine encompassing the medical school and its affiliated healthcare systems, Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. He joined Stanford from The Permanente Federation, the umbrella organization for the physician groups of Kaiser Permanente, where he collaborated with leaders from across the Permanente Medical Groups and Kaiser Foundation Health Plan and Hospitals on advancing digital health and strategic priorities. Hennessey-Hsieh is responsible for the management and sustainability of KPSOM, directing the planning and implementation of all operational and financial aspects of the school, monitoring growth and advancing new initiatives, and managing the school’s administrative offices and financial functions including Development, Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Marketing and Communications.
