Beth M. Roemer, MPH

Assistant Dean for External Affairs and Strategic Planning; Lecturer

Beth M. Roemer, MPH, is Assistant Dean for External Affairs and Strategic Planning at the Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine. She has held leadership roles at the School in admissions, communications and brand, strategic planning, health systems science, governance development, and equity, inclusion, and diversity. Formerly she served as the senior director of the Kaiser Permanente Institute for Health Policy. Her policy focus included medical education innovation and the future healthcare workforce. During her 30-year career at Kaiser Permanente, Ms. Roemer has led multidimensional national strategic initiatives spanning a variety of disciplines, from organizational effectiveness and quality of care to new health insurance products and medical group organization. Ms. Roemer is a member of the federally authorized Council on Graduate Medical Education, which assesses physician workforce trends and makes recommendations to the secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Beyond Flexner Alliance focused on social mission in health professions education.
